While preparing to prototype a mapping website using the GMAP module, I came across a somewhat documented issue related to the following error when accessing the GMAP settings under admin>configuration>gmap.

ERROR: "Javascript is required to view this map."

At first I thought it might be an issue with an improper API for my localhost set-up, but pretty quickly ruled that out. I then turned to the forums and found a wealth of solutions mostly dealing with hard hacks. I eventually had the thought that it could be something to do with Admin Module, so I set the Administration theme to non-Admin Module and voila - the map magically appeared. There is documentation about this issue, but it's sort of difficult to find in the midst of a mountain of similar issues and not knowing exactly where to look for a solution. I didn't find it myself until after seeing the results of switching the theme.

I've since shifted the Administration theme to Cleanr, and everything is working just fine.
